p l a y i n f o r m a t i o n a b o u t him a l r e a d y p o s s e s s e d . T h e y w i l l be
i n t e r e s t e d in h i s g e n e r a l s o c i o – e c o n o m i c s t a t u s , h i s c o n c e p t i o n

H o w e v e r , d u r i n g t h e p e r i o d i n w h ic h t h e i n d i v i d u a l i s i n t h e
i m m e d i a t e p r e s e n c e o f t h e o t h e r s , few e v e n t s may o c c u r w h ic h
d i r e c t l y p r o v i d e t h e o t h e r s w ith t h e c o n c l u s i v e i n f o n n a t i o n th e y
will n e e d i f t h e y a r e t o d i r e c t w i s e l y t h e i r o w n a c t i v i t y . Many
c r u c i a l f a c t s l i e b e y o n d t h e ti m e a n d p l a c e o f i n t e r a c t i o n o r l i e
c o n c e a l e d w i t h i n it . For- e x a m p l e , t h e ‘ t r u e ’ o r ’ r e a l ’ a t t i ­

When w e a l l o w t h a t t h e i n d i v i d u a l p r o j e c t s a d e f i n i t i o n o f

v i r t u e o f t h e i r r e s p o n s e to t h e i n d i v i d u a l a n d b y v i r t u e of a n y
