Effects of Corruption to Country Development
Corruption refers to the act of abusing entrusted power for personal gain. Corruption has
been proved to be a major factor that has hindered development in most countries due to raising
concerns in many public offices. Most countries have recorded a slow progress in the
development activities due to personal interest affecting other people in the society thus raising a
need to control corruption (Mohamad etal., p 47). Most public offices will not account for the
resources allocated due to acts of corruption. I chose this topic due to the increased rate of
corruptions in most countries affecting their economic development (Saha etal., p 92). It has also
resulted to a gap between the poor and rich due to personal interest for those in control of public
offices. Through this research, I will identify most offices that are affected by corruption,
determine the extent to which corruption has affected their economic development, identify the
reasons that have led to increased rate of corruption in most countries and suggest proper
measures to be taken for those found guilty.
