Expert Answer:Religion paper

Answer & Explanation:plz no plagiarism at all my instructor is really serious about it read all the following description carefully and try to follow all steps.I have uploaded an example of how this assginemtint should look.u will need to choose a place to visit. plz choose this one (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 13510 N 42nd St, Tampa, FL 33612)Here are some ideas on how to organize this paper based on the three forms of religious expression. It is assumed that this paper is intended to be a descriptive or “phenomenological” account of the religious activity, neither laudatory nor critical. On this particular occasion, the purpose is just to observe carefully and empathetically, in the way discussed in Chapter One, what is actually done. It is also assumed that this report is to be based on firsthand observation, deliberately avoiding the use of secondary sources, so notes and bibliography are not needed. However, in some cases you may need to get a little background through prior reading or through material available at the religious site to understand better what you see; if used, be sure to cite those. Interviews may also be helpful, as well as perusing the website for the group, if it has one; if used, also be sure to cite those. Most religious places welcome sincere students as visitors. Remember to be quiet, respectful, appreciative, and appropriately dressed. Here is the outline for a descriptive or “phenomenological” paper:Field Information. Give the full name, exact address, and religious affiliation of the group. (For example, don’t just say “a Buddhist temple”; be sure to specify the school, or denomination, and the national background.) Give the exact date and time of the visit; give the name and type of service (if any) attended.Preliminary Placing Information. Describe the outside and inside appearance of the building, the way visitors are greeted, and the sort of people in this group (that is, their apparent social class, lifestyle, ethnic background, gender, average age, the number present, and so forth).Description of Activity or Symbolism. If you attend a service or formal presentation on the religion, describe what happened from beginning to end. Try to give some sense of the emotional tone and subjective spiritual meaning of the scenario. (For example: Was the opening dramatic or casual? Is congregational participation emotional or reserved? Is much of the service spontaneous or ritualized?) If you did not attend a regular service, discuss in detail the significance of the art, architecture, and symbolism in and around the site.Analysis. Analyze the topic in terms of the three forms of religious expression: theoretical (teaching), practical (worship), and sociological (leadership and group type), and include art, ethics, and experience as appropriate. At least one-third of the paper should cover these topics.Theoretical. What, essentially, does this religion teach? As far as you can tell from this one experience, what is the main message this religion gives through its sermons, practices, symbols, and so on?Practical. What is the basic nature of the worship? Formal or informal? Ancient or modern? Structured or spontaneous? What message about how this group conceives of the role of religion does the nature of the worship communicate?Sociological. What kind of group is it? Close-knit or diffused? Does it consist mostly of people drawn to the religion by family or ethnic ties? Or does it consist mostly of committed converts of different backgrounds? What role does the priest or leader play? What message about religious experience and meaning is communicated by the nature of the leadership and the group?A discussion of the art, ethics, and mystical or other special religious experiences of the group may also be discussed under the above three categories as they apply. For example, the art may have implications for the theoretical, practical, or sociological aspects of the group; the practical aspect may be used to evoke a special experience.Writing a religious visit paper should be an interesting adventure. Best wishes!

For my culture encounter project, I visited Bay Hope Church on Sunday November 3, 2019 at 9:30 A.M.
This church has a few different campuses but the one I visited was the lakeshore campus located on 17030
Lakeshore Road Lutz, FL 33558. This church is a Christian non-denominational church.
As soon as you drive up to the church, there are greeters waving you in to help you park. Many people of
all ages seem to be at this church, mostly families but there is a wide spread of older people and also
college students attending at this time. As soon as I got to the door there were people welcoming me and
handing me a bulletin with information about things happening that morning during the service. Most
people were dressed casual with jeans and a nice shirt. I observed people of all races, genders, and lifestyles
at this church. I met with a college student and asked her about the church. She said the feel of the church
is very contemporary and casual unlike other churches. There were a lot of people at this service time I
would estimate 200-250 people.
As soon as the service started there was a live band on stage in front of the congregation singing spiritual
music with the lyrics on a screen. The entire congregation was up on their feet singing these songs with
the band and lifting their hands to the sky. After 4-5 songs the pastor came to the stage and said a prayer,
asking the holy spirit to fill the church and open everyone’s hearts to what he was about to preach. He
then gave some news about the church and while this was happening the offering buckets were passed
around the congregation. After this he began to preach his sermon. As I observed the congregation,
everyone was very invested in the sermon as they took notes and was reading the passages from the bible
that were also on the screen. The sermon was on conflict in our life’s and how God uses that conflict to
teach us lessons and help us grow as Christian’s. The pastor brought up how nothing in our life is perfect,
we can’t just pray for a bad situation to go away. But we can ask God to help us get past a bad season in our
life and make us better people from it. The congregation would clap and was very engaged with the
message the pastor was teaching. After he was done, he prayed again and had us all stand and sing another
song before we were dismissed. Once dismissed people stayed and talked to each after and there were
greeters again saying goodbye to us as we left the building. Everyone seemed loving and companionate.
There were all three forms of religious expression throughout the service. The theoretical which the
pastor uses verses from the bible along with his sermon. There is also practical which everyone was
worshiping to their God by singing songs and praying to him during the service. The sociological form the
pastor was the “leadership” type in the church as he was the one teaching us his sermon.
The main message I got from this religion was the relationship with God and the community. They teach
about relationship and how to treat people and how to look at situations in life rather than just teaching
the bible in general. This church really embraced the idea of community in the church and throughout
the area.
The community of the church was all different people from all different backgrounds. People who have
been Christians their whole life and people who were there for the first time. From what I observed, no
one judged a person by their past, life background, race, gender, sexuality, ect. Everyone was there for one
reason and that was to listen to the pastor preach his lesson. No one worshipped the pastor, but everyone
worshipped their God by singing, praying, and listening to the lesson.
All in all this church, even though was a Christian church, seemed to be very contemporary and laid back.
There were religious practices including worshipping by singing, praying, and reading the bible but there
were also lessons taught about life and how the relationship with God helps throughout life. The music
matched our everyday culture as it was a pop music sound with Christian lyrics and the atmosphere was
welcoming and non-judgmental.
