The four variables I will use are: Island size, island distance, habitat, and taxon. I think that
colonization will be negatively impacted by the distance of the island from the main land and
the smaller land mass will increase extinction rates regardless of habitat and taxon.
1. Hypothesis 1: As the land mass is smaller and further from the main land, the population will
decrease for all animals in any chosen habitats. Null-hypothesis 1: The change in the
population of animals is independent of the land size and distance, due to habitat changes.
