Answer & Explanation:Can you please connect the writing to chapters or concepts from the book below,Morling, B. (2018). Research Methods in Psychology (3rd ed.). New York: W. W. Norton & Company, Inc.Thank you.Original assignment:This is a podcast that focuses on the question of ethics in research. It turns out that facebook is constantly engaged in social engineering studies to examine and explore how little changes they make impact how you feel and what you experience. It is a really interesting podcast. I’d be very interested to hear your thoughts on it. you need to write a 1-2 page reaction paper that includes a brief summary of what you listened to as well as your reaction to ithttp://www.radiolab.org/story/trust-engineers/

Facebook is one of the most captivating internet technology site growing at a high rate. In
2014, it reported a total of 1.3billion users. Facebook was in a dilemma on how they could best
manage its customers. The podcast presents engineering personnel who discusses the relationship
between technology and human emotions. The dilemma started on the Christmas season in 2011
when Facebook received numerous photo uploads. During that time, any user noticing an
unappealing image could report and ask Facebook to delete. Facebook had put limits on its users
from sharing nudes, hate speech, and drug abuse (“Trust Engineers | Radiolab,” n.d.). After
Christmas, the engineers found millions of users requesting photos to be deleted. Upon
evaluation, they found that images reported were puppies reported as hate speech and families
celebrating the holidays.
Facebook then developed a feature to ask users how they felt about the photo before it
could be deleted. This was meant to capture technology use and human emotions. The users had
options such as disturbing, upsetting, bad images, among others. Facebook installed a series of
changes on user emotions towards images with no success. The engineers realized that rather
than losing customers because of a minor issue of photos, there was a need to research human
behaviors in technology (“Trust Engineers | Radiolab,” n.d.). The research incorporated
scientists, system engineers, and other related professionals. This led to the creation of a
Facebook laboratory that opened the door for social engineering.
Facebook made an incredible and innovative step in world history to address its
customers. Most companies do not value customers. Most of their meetings focus on opening
more branches, attracting customers, increasing profit margin, among others. No one has ever
singled out customers to get an emotional response. In the business world, customer needs come
first. The move to develop a laboratory aimed at researching human emotions shows a promising

future for Facebook. I would also advocate for close evaluation of what Facebook users post in
the timeline, groups, and messenger. Recently, a user could wake up to the calls of close family
members asking why they have shared nudes in their profiles. There were common cases of
account hacking that prompted people to close down the site due to embarrassment.
The cases subsided because the reports were addressed, and customer privacy guaranteed.
As per the podcast, the issue started with customers raising a simple alarm about disgusting and
inappropriate photos. Facebook did not develop the social engineering lab for fun, but rather to
find a lasting solution for customer woes. I commend this development as it shows the current
level of technological growth. I enjoy using Facebook, especially when I am down emotionally.
By laughing at funny videos and posts on Facebook, I thank whoever came up with the forum
and the team that strives to ensure the code of conduct among users. By addressing user
emotions, Facebook is on a mission to make the world a better place for everyone.
